With more than 20 years of experience in video production, Nate Shuppert brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to every project he manages.  Any client can appreciate his versatility. As an independent producer, he can take a project from start to finish or plug into a production team. Nate has worked with an impressive entertainment roster that includes musicians like Dolly Parton, Charlie Daniels, Buddy Guy, Robben Ford, Amy Grant, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Earl Scruggs, Johnny Winter, Warren Haynes, and Steve Earle.  He's also worked alongside actor/comedian Ed Helms' side project, The Bluegrass Situation.

In 2015, his contributions as Director of Photography and Editor on TWA Pictures/American Public Television’s documentary The Space Shuttle: Flying for Me were rewarded with a regional Emmy nomination. He has considerable experience on projects featuring the U.S. military, first for the Armed Forces Network, and more recently on dCorlew Films/GAC-TV’s The Journey Home: A Soldier’s Story as DP, Co-Producer, and Editor.

Music has been central to his career as well. He has worked with CMT/MTV Networks and GAC-TV, music festivals Bonnaroo and MerleFest, red carpet coverage for the CMA Awards, record labels Universal Music and Compass Records, Nashville’s Music City Roots, and many more during his nearly two decades in Nashville. For three years, he was a staff Producer/Editor for the Gibson Guitar company. Not surprisingly, Nate is a musician too—bass player for bluegrass band Off The Wagon. Nate’s love for bluegrass led him to co-produce The Station Inn: True Life Bluegrass, a feature documentary about the world famous bluegrass venue, The Station Inn. “Capturing musical performances is definitely a strong point for me,” he says. “As a musician, I have an innate feel for how to highlight a performance—whether onstage or in the studio—to make it shine.”

“I pride myself on being able to capture the real essence of a person on camera—through careful location scouting, detailed lighting, and making that person comfortable in front of the camera. Being sensitive and doing the little things correctly can make all the difference in conveying who that person is and what their story is.”
